PROJECT OVERVIEW
IP CAM DEVELOPMENT FOR CHINESE MANUFACTURER
Hangzhou Meari Technology Inc. is a Chinese manufacturer and distributor of home security cameras. As part of the expansion of their 'Mini' IP Cam series, the Mini 8S was to be designed.
During my internship at the Milan-based design agency Habits, several concepts for the new IP Cam were to be created. Together with 2 other designers, I developed several concepts.
CHECKING BENCHMARKS
NEST AND CO
Before I set out to develop my own solutions, I examined market solutions and benchmarks. These helped me to understand how the different degrees of freedom work together in different form characters.
I compared:
• Joint combinations
• degrees of freedom
• Housing structure and shape
• Mounting types
• Placement of connectors and speakers, LED ...

IDEATION
INSPIRATION AND SKETCHing
I looked for different sources of inspiration to work out different concept directions. After I had worked out various directions, I continued with the internally agreed concept favourite, the 'cone'.
